Product overview

What it does, and where it fits.

Where there is no room for a tapered reducer, a reducing flange makes the size change inside the flange itself. At 35 mm to 50 mm thick it takes almost no space in the run, which makes it the usual way to connect a small branch, instrument or valve to a larger lined flange.

The flange is cut from IS 2062 plate or ASTM A 105, drilled to ASME/ANSI B16.5 Class 150 on the large side, and lined with PTFE, PFA or FEP flared over the face. As with the reducers, PTFE is marked on the one-step reductions and the wider steps are listed in PFA and FEP; the table reproduces those marks row for row.

Note that reducing flanges carry no vent hole — the catalogue explicitly excludes reducing flanges, blind flanges and spacers from vent hole drilling.

The catalogue states that reducing flanges, blind flanges and spacers are not drilled with vent holes; the liner in these items is not backed by a long enclosed steel annulus in the way a spool is.
