Product overview
What it does, and where it fits.
A jacketed lined spool is a lined spool pipe enclosed in a second carbon steel shell fitted with inlet and outlet nozzles. Steam, hot oil or chilled fluid circulates in the annulus, holding the process fluid at temperature over the entire length of the run rather than only at the vessels.
The inner pipe is lined exactly as a standard spool — PTFE, PFA or FEP flared over both flange faces — so the wetted path is unchanged. The jacket carries its own vent hole, and the assembly keeps the ASME/ANSI B16.5 Class 150 flange pattern of the unjacketed item so it drops straight into an existing line.
Because the jacket adds stiffness, jacketed spools are supplied in longer face-to-face lengths than plain spools: 500 mm to 6000 mm in the smaller bores, tapering to 2000 mm at NB 16".

Low-pressure steam, hot thermic fluid or chilled fluid. Tell us the service medium, its temperature and pressure and we will confirm the jacket design and nozzle size.
Weight and handling. A jacketed NB 16" spool is a heavy assembly, so the catalogue limits it to 2000 mm face to face, against 6000 mm for bores up to NB 6".
The liner is rated for continuous service to 260 °C, which is well above normal steam-jacket temperatures. Confirm the jacket medium temperature with us if it exceeds that.
