Product overview

What it does, and where it fits.

The 90° elbow turns a lined run through a right angle without exposing steel to the process. The bend is formed from ASTM A 106 Gr. B pipe, flanged to ASME/ANSI B16.5 Class 150, and lined so that the fluoropolymer flares over both faces and seals against the adjoining component.

An elbow is the point in a line where velocity, abrasion and impingement are highest, which is exactly where an unlined carbon steel bend fails first. The fluoropolymer liner takes that duty with a low-friction, chemically inert surface.

Both flanges are fixed in the standard build. One fixed and one loose flange, or two loose flanges, can be specified where bolt-hole alignment on site is awkward. A vent hole is drilled through the bend as on every lined component.

The catalogue marks PFA and FEP as applicable from NB 6" upward for this item; NB 1/2" to 4" elbows are listed in PTFE only. Send us your duty and we will confirm what can be produced.

The catalogue lists 546 mm at NB 14" and 610 mm at NB 16", against 305 mm at NB 12". The larger bends use a longer radius, so allow for it when setting out the pipework.

Yes in the standard build. One fixed and one loose flange, or two loose flanges, are available if you need rotational freedom to pick up bolt holes.
