Product overview
What it does, and where it fits.
A sight glass in a heated line is the coldest point in that line. Product crystallises on the glass, condensation fogs it, and within a shift the operator can no longer see through it. A jacketed sight flow indicator solves that by circulating steam or hot fluid around the viewing chamber so the glass stays at process temperature.
This model has a cast stainless steel body and jacket in CF8, CF8M, CF3M or CG3M, two toughened borosilicate 3.3 or soda lime windows, and PTFE gaskets. Face-to-face runs from 160 mm at 25NB to 1400 mm at 400NB.
Custom bodies, alternative jacket materials and higher pressure ratings can be built to order, and the whole unit can be lined in FEP or PFA for aggressive service.
Features
Built into every unit.
- Heating or cooling jacket keeps the glass clear on crystallising and viscous duty
- Cast stainless body and jacket — CF8, CF8M, CF3M or CG3M
- Two toughened borosilicate 3.3 or soda lime windows
- 25NB to 400NB, face to face 160 mm to 1400 mm
- FEP/PFA (PTFE) lined version available
Benefits
Why it earns its place in the line.
- Glass stays clear on products that would crystallise or condense on a cold window
- Large view area with easy maintenance and durable construction
- Robust flanged body drops straight into an existing line
- Glass and gaskets replaceable in situ without cutting the pipework
- Mountable in any orientation

FAQ
Questions we are asked about this item.
Because an unjacketed sight glass is the cold spot in a heated line. Product crystallises or condenses on the window and within a shift you cannot see through it. The jacket holds the glass at process temperature.
The standard rating follows the hydro test pressure chart for jacketed and double window units. A high pressure rating up to 30 bar can be provided on request.
Yes — the catalogue lists customised MOC for body and jacket as available, alongside the standard CF8, CF8M, CF3M and CG3M options.
