Product overview
What it does, and where it fits.
A plain sight glass shows you a fluid. It does not tell you whether that fluid is moving, and with an opaque liquid or a gas it may not tell you anything at all. A rotary wheel indicator puts a stainless rotor in the flow path: the wheel turns when there is flow, and the speed of rotation indicates the velocity.
That makes it readable at a glance from across a plant, without an operator having to stand at the glass and stare into it. It is the standard choice for opaque liquids, slurries and heavy gases where a clear window tells you nothing.
The rotor is CF8, CF8M or CF3M. Body options cover WCB, MS, CF8, CF8M and CF3M, with the same dimensions as the standard double window model.

No. The speed of rotation indicates flow velocity qualitatively — it tells an operator that flow is present and roughly how fast. For a measured rate you need a flow meter.
A rotary wheel works in either flow direction and reads well from a distance. A flapper suits uni-directional flow and shows velocity by the angle it takes up.
