What it does, and where it fits.

Identical in function and dimensions to the stainless jacketed model, this version uses a mild steel body and jacket. On duties where the process does not attack carbon steel — many solvents, oils, and warm non-aqueous products — that is a substantial saving with no loss of visibility or jacket performance.

Two toughened borosilicate 3.3 or soda lime windows and PTFE gaskets are unchanged. Face-to-face matches the stainless version exactly, from 160 mm at 25NB to 1400 mm at 400NB, so the two are interchangeable in a layout.

Yes — face to face, flange OD, PCD and drilling are identical across 25NB to 400NB, so the two are interchangeable in a pipework layout.

Whenever the process or the external environment attacks carbon steel, or where product contamination by iron matters. For clean solvents, oils and warm non-aqueous duty, mild steel is usually sufficient.
