PTFE Entry Pipe
Solid PTFE entry pipe, NB 1/2" to 16", to 3000 mm
Pure PTFE entry pipe — no steel backing — for introducing fluid into a vessel where even a lined steel body is unwanted. NB 1/2" to 16" in lengths to 3000 mm.

Product overview
What it does, and where it fits.
The entry pipe is machined from solid PTFE rather than lined onto a steel core. That makes it fully inert on every surface, inside and out, which matters when the item is fully immersed in an aggressive batch or where any exposed steel would be attacked from the outside as well as the bore.
Standard supply is a straight entry pipe to ASTM D 1457 in lengths up to 3000 mm across NB 1/2" to 16". A curved entry pipe can be produced on request.
Features
Built into every unit.
- Solid PTFE construction to ASTM D 1457 — no steel backing
- Inert on the outer surface as well as the bore
- Lengths to 3000 mm across NB 1/2" to 16"
- Straight as standard, curved on request
Benefits
Why it earns its place in the line.
- Fully immersible — no exposed metal to corrode from the vessel side
- No metal pick-up in high-purity batches
- Outstanding corrosion resistance to aggressive organic and inorganic chemicals across a wide temperature range
- Non-stick, non-wetting bore — low surface energy keeps product moving and simplifies cleaning
- Chemically inert and pure; no additives, plasticisers, stabilisers or lubricants to contaminate the process fluid
- The lowest coefficient of friction of any solid, reducing pressure drop and deposit build-up
Applications & industries
Where it is specified.
Typical applications
- Charging reagents into glass-lined and lined steel reactors
- Fully immersed service where the outer surface is also attacked
- High-purity duties intolerant of metallic contamination
- Retrofitting into existing vessel nozzles
Industries served
- Chemical processing
- Pharmaceutical
- Petrochemical
- Oil & gas
- Power generation
- Pulp & paper
- Mining & metallurgy

FAQ
Questions we are asked about this item.
Solid. The entry pipe is machined from pure PTFE with no steel backing, which is why it is listed under materials as ASTM D 1457 entry pipe rather than as a liner.
Yes, a curved entry pipe is available on request.
