Product overview
What it does, and where it fits.
For heating a line, or for holding temperature along the length of a column, the pipe section is supplied inside a glass jacket. Because the jacket is glass too, the process fluid stays fully visible — which a metal jacket cannot offer.
The datasheet describes the seal: the glass jacket is sealed to the pipe section with a Viton 'O' ring and other sealing compositions, and the seal is what prevents impermissibly high expansion between the two.
This is the one component in the pipeline range with a published pressure rating. Maximum operating pressure in the jacket is 1.0 bar for DN 80 to DN 150, and 0.5 bar for DN 225 to DN 300.

1.0 bar for DN 80 to DN 150 and 0.5 bar for DN 225 to DN 300, as published on the datasheet. Do not exceed it — the jacket is glass.
The jacket and the inner pipe expand at slightly different rates when heated. The 'O' ring seal accommodates that movement; the datasheet notes it prevents impermissibly high expansion.
Glass keeps the product visible through the heated section. A metal jacket is more robust and has a smaller outside diameter at the same bore, but you lose the view.
