Product overview

What it does, and where it fits.

A 45° bend changes direction with less turbulence and pressure drop than a right angle, and two of them offset a run neatly around an obstruction.

The datasheet covers DN 15 to DN 100, and notes that bends in 10° and 80° are also available with the same dimensions — the 10° being the usual way to introduce a shallow fall into a long horizontal run.

Features

Built into every unit.

  • Gentler turn than a 90° bend — lower pressure drop
  • DN 15 to DN 100, Type A up to DN 50 and Type B from DN 80
  • Centre to face 50 mm to 175 mm
  • 10° and 80° bends available with the same dimensions

Benefits

Why it earns its place in the line.

  • Completely inert to almost all process media — no metal pick-up and no contamination of the batch
  • Full visibility of the process along the whole line
  • Smooth, non-wetting bore that resists fouling and cleans easily
  • Excellent thermal shock resistance from borosilicate 3.3
  • Modular flanged construction — sections can be swapped without cutting or welding

Applications & industries

Where it is specified.

Typical applications

  • Offsets and gentle direction changes
  • Introducing a shallow fall with the 10° variant
  • Runs where fitting pressure drop matters
  • Distillation, absorption and scrubbing pipework

Industries served

  • Chemical processing
  • Pharmaceutical
  • Fine chemicals & dyes
  • Food & beverage
  • Water & effluent treatment
  • Distillation & solvent recovery
  • Research & pilot plant

FAQ

Questions we are asked about this item.

That is what the datasheet states. It is used to put a shallow, controlled fall into a long horizontal run so it drains.

DN 100. Above that the range moves to 90° bends — send your layout if you need a large-bore shallow turn.

Not sure which spec fits your process?

Send your requirement — media, temperature, pressure, dimensions — and we'll recommend the right product or fabricate it.
