Product overview
What it does, and where it fits.
A Y piece brings two streams together at an angle rather than square, which merges them with far less turbulence and pressure loss than a tee. On a glass line that also means less disturbance to observe through.
Three dimensions are published for each bore — L overall, L1 and L2 — all of which are needed to set the fitting out in an isometric.
Features
Built into every unit.
- Angled merge — lower turbulence than a square tee
- DN 15 to DN 100
- Three setting-out dimensions L, L1 and L2 for every bore
- Borosilicate 3.3 with beaded ends
Benefits
Why it earns its place in the line.
- Lower pressure drop and turbulence than a square branch
- Cleaner visual observation of the merged stream
- Completely inert to almost all process media — no metal pick-up and no contamination of the batch
- Full visibility of the process along the whole line
- Smooth, non-wetting bore that resists fouling and cleans easily
Applications & industries

FAQ
Questions we are asked about this item.
The datasheet gives the L, L1 and L2 setting-out dimensions but does not state the included angle. Send us your layout and we will confirm it against the drawing.
A Y merges streams with less turbulence and pressure loss, but it is longer. Use a tee where the run is tight.
