Product overview
What it does, and where it fits.
The bellow flange is used to fit a bellow to a glass component. It is made of cast iron, and it is the flange used with FBN, VB and FB type bellows.
It is provided with two holes at 18° for the distance locking bolts — the bolts that stop the bellow being compressed or stretched beyond its working range — and is supplied with a split ring, so it can be fitted over a beaded glass end without threading the flange along the pipe.
The drilling details table gives the PCD and both hole patterns: n × d for the main bolts, and n × d1 for the two distance locking bolt holes.
Features
Built into every unit.
- Fits a bellow to a glass component
- Cast iron construction
- Used with FBN, VB and FB type bellows
- Two holes at 18° for distance locking bolts
- Supplied with a split ring
- DN 15 to DN 300 in nine catalogue references
Benefits
Why it earns its place in the line.
- Split ring lets the flange be fitted to a beaded glass end in place
- Dedicated locking bolt holes mean the bellow travel is controlled by design, not by judgement
- One flange family covers the line, vacuum and glass-to-metal bellows
Applications & industries
Where it is specified.
Typical applications
- Terminating a line bellow onto a glass pipe end
- Fitting a vacuum bellow into a glass vacuum line
- Assembling bellow joints during glass plant erection
Industries served
- Chemical processing
- Pharmaceutical
- Fine chemicals & dyes
- Distillation & solvent recovery
- Water & effluent treatment

FAQ
Questions we are asked about this item.
It lets the flange be assembled onto a beaded glass end in place. A solid flange would have to be threaded along the pipe from a free end, which on an erected line is usually impossible.
The distance locking bolt holes, set at 18°. Those bolts limit how far the bellow can compress or extend, keeping it inside its working range.
FBN, VB and FB types — that is the line bellow, the vacuum bellow and the glass-to-metal bellow families.
