The unequal lateral combines the low-turbulence 45° entry of a lateral tee with a reduced branch, so a smaller feed can be introduced into a larger lined main without a separate reducer and without the impingement of a square branch.

As with the equal lateral, two dimensions are listed for each combination: X₁ along the run and X₂ as the offset. Both are governed by the run size NB₁.
