Product overview
What it does, and where it fits.
A non-return valve stops flow reversing when a pump trips or a line is depressurised. On corrosive duty that matters twice over: it protects the pump, and it stops aggressive product being pushed back into a section that is not rated for it.
The body is a casting to ASTM A 216 Gr. WCB, lined and flanged to ASME/ANSI B16.5 Class 150. Its face-to-face dimensions match the lined ball and plug valves exactly, so the three are interchangeable in a pipework layout at the same bore.
Features
Built into every unit.
- Automatic prevention of reverse flow — no operator action needed
- Cast body to ASTM A 216 Gr. WCB, lined and flanged to B16.5 Class 150
- NB 1" to 10", face to face 127 mm to 300 mm
- Face-to-face interchangeable with the lined ball and plug valves
- Stainless steel body on request
Benefits
Why it earns its place in the line.
- Protects pumps from reverse rotation and damage on trip
- Prevents aggressive product backflowing into unrated sections
- Outstanding corrosion resistance to aggressive organic and inorganic chemicals across a wide temperature range
- Non-stick, non-wetting bore — low surface energy keeps product moving and simplifies cleaning
- Chemically inert and pure; no additives, plasticisers, stabilisers or lubricants to contaminate the process fluid
- The lowest coefficient of friction of any solid, reducing pressure drop and deposit build-up

FAQ
Questions we are asked about this item.
Check the flow arrow on the body and confirm the mounting orientation with us — some check valve patterns are horizontal-only while others will work vertically with upward flow.
Both prevent reverse flow. This item is listed NB 1" to 10" with face-to-face 127–300 mm; the swing check valve is listed NB 3" to 14" with a much shorter face-to-face of 38–88 mm, so it suits a wafer-style installation between flanges.
