Product overview
What it does, and where it fits.
The product cooler is used for cooling of liquids, typically for the cooling of distillate from the distillation column. It is the unit that takes hot product leaving a condenser and brings it down to a temperature at which it can be collected or stored.
Unlike a coil condenser, in a product cooler the product travels through the coil battery and the coolant through the shell — the reverse of the usual arrangement. This provides more residence time to the product to be cooled, which is the whole point: a thin stream held longer against a cool surface leaves at a lower temperature than a fast one.
For direct connection with distillate lines, all the product coolers are provided with a 25 DN connection. The range covers seven references from a 50 DN shell up to 150 DN.

The flow is reversed. In a coil condenser the coolant runs in the coil; in a product cooler the product runs through the coil battery and the coolant runs through the shell. That gives the product more residence time and a colder outlet.
25 DN on every model in the range, so it connects directly to distillate lines without an adaptor.
LSHEC 6/10 prints as 2.70 m², but the reference numbering implies 1.00 m² and the longer LSHEC 6/15 is listed at 1.25 m². A shorter unit cannot have more than twice the area of a longer one in the same shell, so we have flagged it rather than publish it as fact. Ask us and we will confirm against the master drawing.
